Mentors help students find their way

Because many of the Rewarding Potential Scholars are the first in their family to attend college, we connect them with a mentor who will serve as a resource, a confidant and a friend as they navigate the transition from home and high school to college.

We work with affiliated organizations and look within the community to identify and train adults who will help students successfully make the leap to college life. These mentors keep in touch with students throughout their four years of college and beyond, helping them adjust to the academic expectations and social issues of college living.

Mentoring is a unique and important part of the RPS approach, one that helps students navigate the reality of college once the dream is within reach.
