As our family of Rewarding Potential Scholars grows, we continue to build this unique scholarship with ongoing assistance from the community. Your donations help us meet the financial needs of additional well-deserving students and reach our 2017 fundraising goal of $100,000—which a magnanimous donor has committed to match.

We help students aim higher

The Rewarding Potential Scholarship is a community-funded effort that helps Fox Lane High School students overcome financial barriers and realize their hopes and dreams of attending college. RPS puts college within reach by providing financial and mentoring support that expands the educational horizons of eligible students—rewarding their academic potential and changing the trajectory of their lives.

You Can Help

Scholarship funds are managed by the Rewarding Potential Scholarship Foundation which operates under the auspices of the Bedford Presbyterian Church in Bedford Village, NY which provided the initial $50,000 in seed money to launch the scholarship. Through the ongoing support of Bedford Presbyterian Church all contributions to the Rewarding Potential Scholarship Foundation are considered a charitable contribution and 100% of the funds go towards scholarships. Bedford Presbyterian Church is a registered 501 (c) 3 organization.

Reach for Success

RPS awards multiple, annually recurring scholarships each spring. To be eligible, a high school senior must meet RPS’s criteria and submit an application to our selection committee. The committee reviews each application, interviews the finalists and selects the winning scholars.

In addition to receiving the ongoing financial support necessary to attend a four-year college, every RPS scholar is assigned a mentor who provides helpful guidance throughout the first year of college. At the end of each college semester, students submit to RPS their transcript and plans for the following semester.

In all, we have committed $345,000 to allow 12 students realize their educational potential. We look forward to celebrating with our first group of scholars when they graduate college in 2019.
